Why have an Abundance Journal?

Published by marycaelsto at 12:22 am under abundance Edit This

Yesterday we talked about what an Abundance Journal was. Today we’ll chat a bit about why to have one.

I’m sure there are naysayers who will tell you that writing down what you want won’t actually get it for you. I mean, if we all wrote down “I want to win the lottery” every day, then why is the Powerball prize still unclaimed from week to week? However, what studies have told us is that people who plan and have goals are more likely to realize those goals. And that’s, in essence, what our abundance journals are. They’re a way for us to plan and have goals.

But, if we’re writing down our abundance goals, then doesn’t it get repetitive writing down the same things from day to day?

Sure, it can. However, as an author, I pride myself in finding new ways to word requests. Plus, the more you think about something, the more likely you can plan for it. And, really, the goal of an abundance journal is to get you to think about what you want. So if you’re thinking about how not to say “I want a new and better paying job” all the time, you’re going to think about that job, what it means to you, what aspects you want.

Personally, since creating an abundance journal, I’ve found that my life has taken more positive steps. I find that when I think about what I’m thankful for, as well as where I’m going, that I feel more grounded, more like I’m on the right path. In addition, I like to think that such actions as an abundance journal sends out good messages to the universe. “Hey, I’m here, and this is what I want. I’d like you to help me with this.” Like taking notes during school, my abundance journal tells the universe that I’m present and paying attention to any messages that it would like to send me.

Next, we’ll talk about the forms abundance journals can take.
